Treating yourself to a massage is holistically beneficial; not only for your physical self but your emotional and spiritual self as well. A massage works by releasing tension in your muscles and by generally relieving the emotional tension, stress and anxiety. The sympathetic nervous system is put into a relaxed state by decreasing the activation of pain neurons which creates a relaxed and peaceful state for the mind, body and soul. It all works by taking the time out to be pampered and just have some ‘me time’.

Aromatherapy works in much the same way but with the addition of essential oils. Essential oils are pure, organic and made up of different chemical constituents, which give them abilities to affect different systems in our bodies and create desired effects. When two or more essential oils are mixed together stimulating aromas can be created with varying reactions on the mind and body, accelerating the desired effect such as increasing relaxation, decreasing stress or treating a number of physical conditions.

Massage is a field that Gemma has always been interested in as she was always massaging family and friends as a child. Gemma studied at the Australian College of Natural Medicine where she completed her Certificate IV Swedish Massage and Aromatherapy, as well as a Diploma in Remedial Massage.
